Why is AmazonMP3 better than the iTunes store for Podfitness users?

Two words: unprotected music!

All of the songs on AmazonMP3 have no DRM or protection on built in. Which means that anything you purchase from AmazonMP3 will work with Podfitness and can still be loaded into your iTunes or Zune libraries.

This has been a big issue for many Podfitness users since protected music will not mix with your workouts.

A few other things to note about AmazonMP3:

  • Over 2 million songs and growing (including Universal artists which aren’t currently DRM free in the iTunes store)
  • The standard MP3 quality is 256k, much better than the 128k standard.
  • It’s cheap! Songs are only .89 cents.

Personally, I’ve bought a few songs so far from AmazonMP3 and it has worked great. I’m really excited about the new doors this opens to Podfitness users to enjoy ANY music they buy with their workouts.

There is a website that searches over 6,000,000 Non-DRM tracks (not including AmazonMP3, which it says its adding soon) all at once - http://www.songboxx.com. With the addition of AmazonMP3, it’ll be a pretty incredible search engine, and THE place to figure out where to purchase non-DRM music on the internet.
